Ms. Parastoo Majd
Parastoo Majd is an associate attorney at Thomas-McDonald Law Firm, who specializes in family law, particularly complex divorces with challenging issues. Parastoo prides herself on providing excellent white glove concierge service with an empathetic yet problem-solving oriented approach.
Parastoo has honed her litigation skills since earning her Juris Doctorate degree in 2016, when she graduated with honors. While in law school she was selected as a member of the Moot Court Board, where she led her team in various competitions, including constitutional law and national adoption law competitions. Notably, Parastoo was chosen as one of the best orators of her law school class, leading her to compete and place in the interschool Moot Court Competition. During law school, Parastoo was drawn to helping families by volunteering at the Children’s Law Center, where she helped protect the rights of children.
In her free time, Parastoo enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with her fiancé, cat, and dog.
Ms. Carrie Bodin
With more than a decade of customer service experience, Ms. Carrie Bodin brings her honed interpersonal communication skills to our firm. Carrie assists Thomas-McDonald Law Firm by streamlining client communication and creating litigation readiness systems to assist all through the legal process. Her previous experience at ADP has helped equip her with the necessary people and administrative know how to adeptly handle our practice areas of family, estate and probate law.
Ms. Bodin received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Minnesota. In her free time, Carrie enjoys baking, jogging and spending time with her triplets and husband. She is also an active member of First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables.
Ms. Melissa Van Heusen
Melissa Van Heusen has over 20 years of experience as a paralegal in numerous areas of law, including but not limited to wills and probate, business, commercial, land use and construction, residential and commercial leasing, and related landlord/tenant remedies. Melissa has dedicated her work to making sure clients receive the best quality service by providing excellent organizational and communication skills, alongside an outstanding work ethic.
Melissa attended Florida International University Paralegal Program and is certified through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) and is a Florida Bar Registered Paralegal.
A true native of South Florida, Melissa enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
